FUNGAL NAILS
Fungal nails are very common. We all naturally have fungi and bacteria on areas of our body. However, when we expose the fungi to warm, moist environments the fungi flourishes and overgrows and over populates.
The fungal nail can present itself as:
- A thickened, discoloured crumbly nail
- An odour coming from the nail
- A distorted nail from the nail bed
Fortunately, fungal nails are not serious. Creams and antifungal tablets are a common practice in helping treat the condition but can take a long duration to show results.
At Lowen we have a pain-free laser treatment option, without side effects and with long-lasting results. Using our Nd:YAG Laser we target the pigment with the fungus which creates heat, denaturing the fungus eradicating the source of the problem. The micro pulses from the laser light pass through the nail hitting the fungus without causing damage to the surrounding nail or skin.

Stretch marks also known as Striae, present themselves as a bands of lines on your skin, which can be purple, pink to light grey and white in colour as a result of your skin stretching and also can be caused by an increase of cortisone in your system. As the skin stretches the collagen and elastin gets damaged altering the skins appearance and can lead to an uneven texture.
The most common causes of stretch marks are often caused by sudden growth spurts, muscle growth from exercise, weight gain and especially during pregnancy as the baby develops.
The most noticeable area for stretch marks are usually on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and breasts.
